WASHINGTON — Gigi Sohn is saying today that “dominant industries” and their “unlimited dark money” are what led to her pulling her nomination last night to become the next commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

But tribes and rural advocates are saying “phooey” to that notion — they feel she simply didn’t know or care about their issues, over several years, and that that factor played a part in helping key Democratic senators shy away from her.
