DNC loses Native organizer in midterm election year
Theresa Sheldon stepping down, Dems now look to hire Native Coalitions Director -- who must know the correct number of tribes.
WASHINGTON — Theresa Sheldon, a citizen of the Tulalip Tribes, has announced that, effective April 8, she is stepping down as the Democratic National Committee’s Native American Political Director.
Sheldon, a longtime Democratic activist, officially joined the DNC in August 2019 as a leader with its political and organizing team. She was previously an organizer with Native Vote Washington, and she has supported several key national legislative, policy, and election victories involving Indian Country.
